I'm Still Alive!

Well I know it has been a while but I am still alive! I have been so busy with the holidays, work, family and just life in general. Whenever I have a day off it seems like I'm just cleaning the house and doing laundry UGH! But I am making a promise to myself to get back into creating regularly! I do really need it. Also, my website has been down for a while now...I am going to be starting it up again ASAP!
It seems like it has been snowing here in NY every day so I just spruced up my blog with some Springy graphics! Yesterday and last night we had sleet and ice, the boys had a snow day which they were thrilled about. I remind them that if they have too many snow days they will have to make them up sooner or later, maybe Easter break! Now it's supposed to snow again Thursday into Friday! I LOVE it though!

New Halloween Doll!

Wow two posts in one day woohoo! Well I had said it was a day for makin' bears but when I sat down I found I was in a dollie mood instead! Soooooo I made a Halloween Doll similar in shape to the other clown doll I have on ebay right now only the new guy has painted clown features including a big ol' attached clown nose and a giant Cheshire-like grin! He is listed on ebay right now! Now back to laundry! Have a great rest of the day!

It's Bear Makin' Weather!

Well after a very hot and humid weekend it has finally cooled down here in NY! Today it is cloudy, rainy, windy and gloomy....LOVE IT! It is my favorite weather...well it could be a bit cooler and windier with thunder and lightening, then it would be perfect! I love lighting my candles and sitting down with a cup of pumpkin spice coffee and some new fabric waiting for me to turn it into something! And that's just what I'm gonna do (along with some laundry UGH!) I have a rare day off and plan on making the best of it! A quiet day of bear makin' with my dainty bulldog snoring at my feet! I hope you all have a Blessed day of doing' what ya LOVE! Oh and when you get a minute please check out my newest bears listed on ebay ;o)

Can You Feel It...Fall Is In The Air!

Fall is definitely in the air! It has been so delightfully cool here in NY! Although I'm usually working and don't get to enjoy it...ahhhhh the wonderful world of retail! But when I am at my son's football practice with a big comfy sweatshirt on in that early Fall darkness I am lovin' it!
I put my orange mini tinsel garland and chenille pumpkin men on my feather tree on my dining room table! And hopefully I will put my ghosties, graveyard and black lights out in the yard this weekend...Yeh yeh I know it's still September! But I hang on as long as I can. I dread the day when my boys will be too old for trick or treating :o( How is it that I never grew up LOL!
Have a Blessed Day!

NEVER FORGET

I will never forget that horrible day...I was outside walking the dog when my sister called and asked if I was watching the news. I came inside and put the tv on. I sat there watching this horrible "accident" with my sister on the phone...then another plane...we then knew this was no accident. I immediately hung up with my sister and tried to call my husband who worked in the city. Of course I couldn't get through at first. Then I reached him...he said the city was chaos and that he was trying to get out. The phone kept going in and out because the circuits were all over loaded. We talked when we could...then another plane, this time in DC...it was insane. We were under attack and every plane overhead was an out of control missile. Then news reports said another plane was headed for DC...madness.
I went to my sister's house with my son who was then only 2 1/2...I didn't want to be alone waiting for my husband to get home...he finally got to my sister's house in the early evening...it took him hours and hours to get home. He came in and hugged me and our son...it was such a relief...now I think about all of those poor people who felt no relief that day. All of the fathers, husbands, wives, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters who never made it home.
We were attacked by evil people who hate us...they hate our country...they hate our freedom...and they tried to take it away from us, but they did not.
I remember such a feeling of strength and unity those days and weeks following the attack...driving by homes with flags flying proudly in the wind, almost every car had a flag attached to it. Messages of hope written on windows. Police Officers and firefighters were heroes again. We were all united, one big family grieving together and trying to get through it.
Where did that all go? Every year when the anniversary comes around there's grief made fresh and a sad nostalgia...yes we should move on but we should NEVER FORGET. We should feel that unity and pride in our country always just as we did in the days following that tragedy. Our nation is far from perfect. We all have our personal problems and struggles... but for a terrible, brief time we were all joined together...we should be joined together always for we are one nation UNDER GOD. NEVER FORGET. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

The Ornies Are Done!

Well I finally finished the big ornie order!!! Ya know when you've been working on something for a while...that feeling when you're all done and can move on to something new....woooooooo! Don't get me wrong, I like making the ornies and like even more the fact that it was an order but I really LOVE working on something NEW!
I have some new ideas coming along and will share them with you when they are done! More Halloweenie stuff...shocker LOL!
On a another note...today is the 2nd day of school and the boys were happily boarding the bus this morning! They got the teachers they wanted so they were all smiles yesterday which was a big weight off my shoulders...I am such a worrier! It's still not easy getting them to bed at a reasonable hour though! And of course I was up late covering all of their new books with contact paper...UGH! I remember using brown grocery bags when I was a kid! Now it's contact paper and book socks!
Have a Blessed Day!
